sancta alta caritate | Lorelei Thomas

i have always been a creature of desire
even raised in the Church, warned of temptation—
it is simply human nature.
tear me apart, make me whole again
baby, i want you to devour me.
i am the apple,
you need only take a bite.

i have always been a creature of desire.
love remains my sin of choice
because it is simply my nature.
get me dirty, make me clean again
i want you to wash over me.
you are the waters
only i can part.

i want you like salvation.
i want you singing my praises.
i want your midnight prayers.
take my flesh and eat of it
take my blood and drink of it
so that before God and everyone, i will be yours.
